Really love the UI and having a lot of fun! I think overall I'd love a bit more feedback and clarity as to the quality of the movie and performances, and where I could be improving, within the game.
Bug -
* I started a new game and the movie I'd made in the previous game (based on Emma source material) was in the movie list.
* The 'Awards' list on the internet is really slow to scroll down for me.
General feedback and suggestions -
* Would love to have nominations in advance of awards * Some feedback after the release of a film would be great. I feel a tad lost as to what to improve * Would love to be able to negotiate salary with cast * A way to filter talent when casting / crewing up would be great!
* I'd love a balance sheet option when I click on my movies in the list. Like net gross / loss. Never mind found this! Does 'profit' account for marketing budget? Cos my movie says profit but guessing by my budget it was defo a loss! * Test screening / re-editing would be great based on audiences reactions.
Question
* Can you make successful low budget movies? * How do we know how well our actors have performed, and how well our director / writer have done? There isn't any indication of this (HMS had the star system for each).

Ok, that's weird. What do you mean by movie list? The one on the main screen? Did you save that first game?
Contemplated that for a while, decided to go for the "budget sans marketing" option, because that's what film companies usually publish.
What filter option would you like to see?

Ok, that's weird. What do you mean by movie list? The one on the main screen? Did you save that first game? The one in the internet > MOVIES list up top. Yes I did click 'end game' then started a new game.Go to the Library and open "Movies". There you can see the ticket sales and the dvd sales and a percentage of how much the movie made compared to the budget. Gotcha! What filter option would you like to see? Um sort by fame for cast, by their skill in a specific genre. Equally with writers, sort by those with high intelligence / complexity skills, for example. Directors who are adept at horror, if you're casting a horror.

Unfortunately I can't give any feedback because the only thing that opens is the calendar icon.

Ah, "End game", that might be the problem. The game initialized some things when you start the game. Just quite the game (like the entire application) before starting a new game until I fix this, that should help.
You can. Try genres that don't depend on the visuals, like dramas.
You should see a star rating when the movie releases. Has this not shown up for you or is it just not enough for you?

Will they still always have a low 'production' star rating when released? You should see a star rating when the movie releases. Has this not shown up for you or is it just not enough for you? Apologies actually looked at this on my latest release. Sorry! Yes it's good. I'd be keen to see how each actor did in the rating.

Can you be more specific? Does the screen look ok to you? Did the menus before that work? Does the editor work? And most importantly: Have you used the stand alone editor? If yes, there might be a outdated database file causing issue. Find "/AppData/LocalLow/Atomic Games/Film Studio Tycoon"and delete any database files you find there.

It will be lower compared to dropping a ton of money on the movie (otherwise there wouldn't be an incentive to do so), but certain kind of movies will always have at least decent production value, even of the production budget it very low. Also keep in mind that production value is just one of the many things that influence the quality and success of a movie. Other things are more important.

That's great! I would like more at the scripting stage, which I think the foundations of are brilliant.
After a draft, some indication of how the script is would be great, so you can redraft - either with the original writer or another writer.

I really enjoyed my first play session!
A few take aways:
I'm finding it quite difficult to make money at all.
I'm finding it quite hard to know which scripts are decent. There's no feedback at this stage.
I'd love to know what to do better at the end of a movie.
The control freak in me is itching to be able to negotiate more with directors and actors to bring down overall cost.
I love the groundwork though! The awards are great and the UI is fun.

Just started my first game, Love it so far. Few things I noticed: When I try to click on anything on the tablet on the desk, it doesn't work. The screen gets all messed up when you try to do an open audition and go right back to casting. When starting production for two films consecutively, the amounts you enter for Score, Cinematography and all that don't reset when you reach that step for the second film. I can't click on Adam Driver's profile. I'll let you know if I find anything else.

I got nominated at the Golden Globes, yeah! but I went 0 for 3, still it was nice to be nominated. But when the nominations were announced, I was surprised to see Domnhall Gleeson nominated in both the Best Actor - Musical or Comedy and Best Actor - Drama category for the same role.
I was also invited to the Academy Awards, where I also went 0 for 3, bummer. The directing, screenwriting and lead acting categories were quite similar from the Globes, but the supporting categories featured 10 completely different actors and actresses. I get it's not always the same actors who get nominated, but 10 completely different actors broke immersion a bit.
I also found out that you can't do anything with a bought script. The only think it lets me do is set the marketing budget and set a release date, but I can't hire a director or cast.

I couldn't change the script when bought but I could definitely cast it and hire a director
