Another strange bug just experienced, Out of blue, I got 90mil in DVD sales for February 2018. None of my films won any award, neither they got 90 mil increase in dvd sales in their report. All of the films that I released earlier already finished with DVD sales, so these money came from nowhere.

I just downloaded the alpha and when it starts, it just displays a bunch of jumbled up text and any of the things I try to click on lead to a blank page, is this just a weird issue with the alpha? I tested different resolutions and graphical options from the startup menu to see if it fixes it but it doesn't.

When an actor/writer gets more than a full page of credits, the scrolling gets bugged out, not showing all of them, or showing them in the wrong place.

Also you need to be able to delete franchises, I accidentally clicked done instead of the textbox, so my franchise is now called Good!. Also renaming them would be good.

Sorry for my bad english. I saw some other bugs:
1 - The value of the marketing budget decreases only 10% of the value from cash. Example: If I try to spent $100m on marketing, it decreases only $10m from cash. If I try to spent 150m, it decreases $15m.
2 - The costs with prints are discounting twice the cash. During production and during the release of the film.
3 - There is a script called "Sleepless" that after I buy it and click on it on the office screen, the game goes to the release screen, instead of the production screen. I realized that another studio has a film with the same name in production. This is probably what is causing the bug.
4 - Direct release to DVD is not working. The movie still goes to theaters. (I don't know if it's on the to-do list, so sorry)
5 - I can release a film without marketing and the film still makes a lot of money. 6 - The opening box office of a film makes no noticeable difference if I choose a direct to DVD, limited, national or international release. I manage to have an opening of about $90m with a limited release and about $90m with an international release with the same film.
I have a suggestion on this: Instead of choosing the type of release, create a slider bar to choose the number of movie theaters that the film will be released. Example:
0 ------------------- 15,000
0 - means direct to DVD below 1,001 - Limited release below 4,700 - National launch from 4,700 - Worldwide launch
15,000 cinemas would cost something like $30m. Each movie theater costing $2k.
To balance: If you are doing a national release (from 1,001 movie theaters), you would need to pay an additional $3m If you are doing a worldwide release (from 4,700 movie theaters), you would need to pay another $10m
The value of the marketing budget could be limited to the type of release. Example:
Direct to DVD release is able to spend a maximum of $15m on marketing Limited release is able to spend a maximum of $20m on marketing National release is able to spend a maximum of $100m on marketing Worldwide release is able to spend a maximum of $200m on marketing
The box office could be proportional to the number of movie theaters and the value of marketing.
I'm not criticizing, they are just suggestions. Your game is amazing!

Love the game.
Some suggestions for proper release.
1. Be able to have actors and directors work only for your studio 2. Negotiate salary with artists 3. Other studio should make franchises too. 4. In the editor. If the game starts in 2017 let us give artists. Filmography.
Thank you for this game.

Also you need to be able to delete franchises, I accidentally clicked done instead of the textbox, so my franchise is now called Good!. Also renaming them would be good. The option to sell franchises would be nice too I have other suggestions: 1 - Hype meter. It could be a box office tracking, showing the forecast or potential of opening week of a movie. So we could know if it is worth spending a lot on marketing. 2 - The creation of events like Comic Con. You would pay a fee to exhibit some of your films in production to increase the hype. 3 - A ranking showing the biggest studios of the year. 4 - Show the budget and opening week box office of the films in the "library" or franchise screen. 5 - Sort the list of films in the library in descending order of release. The most recent ones above. 6 - Show the genre and hype of the films on the calendar to avoid direct competition. Reporting a bug: I realized that the game has a really cool dynamic. Example: directors and writers who participate in films become more famous and this affects their salaries, but when they are not participating in any film for a long time, they are getting fame 0 (zero) and the salary is getting $0 too. It is probably the value "0" of fame that is causing this.

This probably shouldn't be possible Lol. They have a complicated relationship, ok!? Thanks for the bug report. Made me laugh, but will be fixed anyway. How far do you get in the game? Have you used the stand-alone-editor before? If yes, go to Users/Appdata/locallow/Atomic Game/Film Studio Tycoon and delete all database files you find there.

So far I'm loving it, I'm having a great time. I've run into a few things, but they're super small. I know it's way too early to talk about mods and the like with the updates and it being in alpha, but I've got a few things planned. Adding more source stuff for example . Great work admin, it's really incredible! Especially for an Alpha!

Just looking through the franchise list, and noticed Sherlock Holmes costs $0 and the character name is spelt Holms instead of Holmes. Sherlock Holmes costs $0 because it is in the public domain
