I just had another playthrough. I achieved my highest ever rated film (95 for Critics, 91 for Viewers). A drama / musical. Strangely it wasn't nominated for too many awards and won a lot less than some of my other less well received films! I have a few suggestions and questions - some of these are just reiterations. I would love to see what features you were planning to add, Admin. It'd be super useful and would mean we stop suggesting ones in the works!
Questions
* I added a writer/director to the database. The script cost $0 and his directing fee was £98,000. Did i muck something up? Will this rise as they do well? * Are stats in general dynamic? * What factors go into award nominations and wins? * How much effect does a big star or director have on BO? Suggestions* Be able to change a release date for a film. * Be able to rename a film at any stage of the process. * More consistency between Golden Globes and Oscars. I find this very jarring. * Award Nominations ahead of ceremony * Schedule / Calendar to work around talent and to avoid always buying them out. Also, if you work a lot with one actor or director, then you can schedule their next film in advance etc. * Awards page for Studio * Be able to filter by 'My Studio' on Movies list * Marketing budget displayed on movie overview * Genre and title displayed throughout casting * Be able to evaluate scripts on slush pile - I like the script reader suggestion above. Maybe pay for a bigger team of script readers, but obviously this costs more. They present more scripts. We can look at the roles / themes of the script before buying. * More scripts available in the slush pile * Writers / Directors we have worked with pitch ideas (longer term idea) * Be able to re-edit the film if it's not working - audience feedback * Be able to re-write the script. Some bigger indication of quality of script. (Not quite as absolute as HMS) * A star rating for each cast member's performance * Hype for films so we know what to prioritise * Domestic / foreign film sales. * Too steep a drop off in box office for well received and big budget films. Doesn't seem realistic * Marketing feels quite flat to me. I'd rather just a marketing budget. The sub categories have quite a lot of overlap for me and feel a little too reductive. Bugs* I made an idea but didn't attach a writer because I was waiting for him to become free from my other movie. The idea was then deleted/disappeared. I feel like ideas / developments should be able to exist without writer for a while and just sit on home screen? This feeds generally into my big want of a schedule. * Filmography isn't always in date order for talent * I accidentally clicked 'open audition' and when i clicked off the book, i couldn't get rid of it without going to menu and going back into casting * I can buy actors / directors / writers out of contracts, even if that contract is on another movie of mine. * Would love more consistency with PoC / Black actors categorisation. Thanks so much for a great game! Having a ball

Okay, I just started playing. It looks very promising and it's already fun to play, good job. I don't have that much data to give some complex feedback, but what I think was not mentioned yet is connected to box office - show how many weeks the movie spent in the chart, it would be also nice to see the position from the previous week (if it dropped or climbed). So far that's it, I hope that it's not such an issue to implement. Thanks, gonna keep playing now.

I don't know if someone asked this already, but there's any way to see the domestic and worldwide boxoffice separately? or do you think about putting something like that in future versions?

The 0$ is a bug I think. I already fixed that, so it shouldn't be an issue in the next version.
Yes!
The most important factors are the critics rating for movies and the "depth" stat for actors.
A lot of things go into the boy office formula, but that's one of the more important ones.
A will compile a list! you can expect it by the end of the week (together with the new update).

Thanks so much for being so communicative and transparent. Really appreciated. It makes the game so much easier to test! Let us know if there's anything we/I can do in my feedback that's more useful to you. Hopefully with the 'to be added features' list you mention that's coming, it means I won't keep suggesting stuff you are already planning to add!

That's totally fine. That way I can get an idea about what things are most important to you guys.

1. Be able to contract talent to your studio for a period of time 2. If you feel you can’t afford the film you are making maybe get one of the rival studio to handle half of release - e.g. - your studio USA - rival studio international. 3.Change salary in editor. 4. Balance talent in film. Studios seem to cast everybody in their films and same directors make 2 films in the same year. 5. Balance box office. Some good films. Don’t make much in box office
Any way that’s is some feedback.
Thanks.

Also wanted to add.
Every time you exit editor the game goes off. Needs to be a button to get back to main menu.

I noticed something whenever I want to filter for black, hispanic or asian talent. I have to check the POC box too, which makes every POC-Person appear. So, I'd think for Filter-Purposes it would be easier to uncheck the box, for black, asian and hispanic actors. I did that in the editor, and it makes filtering a lot easier. Specially if you are like me, and expand the database by quite a bit. I left the POC-Box ticked for anything that is not one of the other 4. So Arabic, Polynesian, Indian, Native-American, all go into this category.

Also a button to come back from the editor would be greatly appreciated

Can thriller / horror / romance etc movies (genre) be nominated at Golden Globes in the 'comedy' and 'drama' categories for perfromance and best film?
I know they can for supporting cast and writer/director.
I'd love if they could be nominated in all categories, and the game classifies thrillers as 'drama' here and 'horror' and 'romance' as comedy (that seems more akin to real life?
Maybe with a bigger bias obviously?

Hey, amazing game so far. I´m really addicted and enjoying it as someone who loved Hollywood Mogul. And I´m really looking forward to TV Shows.
A couple of things I´d like to say though:
When I add a movie to a franchise, that movie doesn´t appear in the franchise list until I reboot the game for some reason.
There should be distinctive menus for source material and franchise products. It´s very confusing having to go down to see the movies.
There should be a pool of characters to add into the movies of the franchise. Specially because some are lost and gone due to naming and the different source materials. Maybe there should be a general database where they are all saved.
Also, some bit more of information about the movies you made. I think we should be able to click on them and see cast, director and writer. And see who played each characters.
Nothing else for now, I´m aware that you need to do a lot of work. And I´m happy to help you as I can.
=)
