Recently, I found one game named OOTP 20. It is a baseball manager game where you can play any MLB season starting from 1871 finishing till today. Basically, this game has a database of every single baseball player from major league since 19th century! It would be cool if this movie game could have an option to start a game, let's say, back in 20s, when most of Hollywood film studios were founded.
I had a chance to play Hollywood Movie Studio game, which is very similar to this one. It was very painful observing famous actors getting super old and substituted by fictional ones while you progress in future years.
Instead, we could solve this problem by starting this game back in times and see your favorite stars in their prime.
I am willing to help with anything I can in order to make it possible!

This is something I have been thinking about. I see the appeal. Obviously the "normal" game has priority in the development, but I wouldn't rule out a "historical mode" down the road.

Thank you for your reply! It is great to hear that you consider to implement "historical mode" in the future. Also, I see that you are planning to include different awards like Globes and Oscars, which is so awesome! Is there any chance to have historical data of awards prior starting year of the game? It would be great to see the real amount of Oscars and Globes that each talent already has.

Do you have any idea how many thousands of hours it would take to add filmographies and award histories for the 1500 people in the database?

As nice as it would be, it is most certainly pie in the sky at this point. Just keep doing what you are doing - we are so excited for the release of the Alpha!

I could use help on the source database, but no one volunteered. The other thing is not going to happen. It's just an unrealistic amount of work for something with no actual gameplay relevance.

If it doesn't require coding, I'm in! Regarding awards, we can start with something easy like best director award. I read that you are planning to have Oscars, Globes and Saturn. Academy Award for Directing was given 92 times. Golden Globe for Directing was given 75 times. Saturn was given 42 times in the same category. Considering the fact that you are planning to have only active crew and cast members, we need maybe 20% of awards data. It seems like a few hours of work for me. This game is based on the real data anyways, so why not have a touch of history in it to educate people about great achievements that each talent has?

filmstudiotycoon.proboards.com/thread/24/help-databaseIn this case, head over to this thread! Maybe some of these works are familiar to you? Researching sources I'm not familiar with is what's taking up the most time, so if anyone can help out on that front, that would speed up the process. That's only one category and only the winners. And just awards. The way the database is build I would need to add the corresponding movies as well. If I would attempt something like this I would want to do it right and if you want to do it rights it's hundreds of hours for, and I repeat myself, a feature with basically no gameplay relevance. I'm sorry, I have to put my foot down here. The database is for in-game data not for historical records. That's the way the database is set up and functions in the game. It's not going to happen.
