I have week of free time ahead and I really want to expand the source material database (especially novel, since novel to movie is the most common form of adaption). However adding source material is pretty time consuming, mostly because I have to research all the novels I haven't read. Below is a list of novels I would like to add to the database. Some of them are popular novels from the last couple of years, some are old classics. Is anyone familiar with any of them? If so, it would greatly speed up the process if you could supply me with the needed information. What would help the most are character lists (Name, Gender, Age, Main/Support/Minor/cameo/Voice-over) and topics/themes (If you have the editor you should already have a list of the topics already in the database, but don't be afraid to add something that isn't there yet).
Anyway... here is the list:
All the Light We Cannot See
Millennium Series
The Inheritance Cycle
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children The Goldfinch Life of Pi
Dune Atlas Shrugged Black Beauty Flowers in the Attic The Eagle Has Landed
Me Before You The Girl on the Train
The Fault in Our Stars
Gone Girl Cloud Atlas
Divergent
Ready Player One The Handmaid's Tale Ender's Game The Color Purple Matilda
The Name of the Rose Perfume The Hitchhiker Guide to the Galacxy The Clan of the Cave Bear The Giver Memoirs of a Geisha
Holes The Perks of Being a Wallflower Angelas Ashes Fight Club Girl with a Pearl Earring The Book Thief The Time Travelers Wife The Kite Runner the Help Water for Elephants My Sisters Keeper Atonement The Host City of Bones Never Let Me Go
The Stand The Shining
The Neverending Story The Thorn Birds
Carrie Sophies Choice Go Ask Alice Slaughterhouse-Five One flew Over Cuckoos Nest The Bell Jar Catch-22 One Hudnred Years of Solitude A Clockwork Orange The Spy Who Came In from the Cold Fahrenheit 451 East of Eden Breakfast at Tiffany's Doctor Zhivago Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
All Quiet on the Western Front The Sun Also Rises The Age of Innocence Gone with the Wind The Maltese Falcon The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank) The Stranger
Pippi Longstocking The Wonderful Wizard of Oz A Room with a View The Scarlet Pimpernel
The Secret Garden Peter Pan Great Expectations The Mill on the Floss Dracula Heart of Darkness Tess of the D'Urbervilles The War of the Worlds The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Treasure Island
Heidi The Prince and the Pauper Pinocchio David Copperfield Nutcracker
Emma
Mansfield Park
Northanger Abbey
Persuasion
P.S. Any marvel/dc experts? I know shit about comic books, but superheroes are so, so popular they absolutely have to be in the database.

I would be willing to produce these lists for; Flowers in the Attic, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Fight Club, Peter Pan and Dracula. Should I post my research on this thread or send it to you directly?
Edit: I have just read the thread for the "Editor". I'll use that and send the file to you.
Second Edit: Um, the editor isn't working for me. I produced the "Flowers in the Attic" data and pressed "add" (and "save") but I can't find it anywhere.

Just in case, I already did and sent:
Millennium Series The Inheritance Cycle Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
But feel free to edit it in the future release of the database in case you find some not accurate stats.

After pressing ADD button, you need to press RELOAD DATABASE button. Everything should appear.

Both is fine. Merging the databases and transferring the data myself takes about the same time. Hold back on the editor though. There might be some bugs that need fixing.

Can I delete anything from the editor? I accidentally added two to the same movie. Also, how can I add a poster for a movie that I made?

Will the TV update come with more franchises and more talents (actors/directors)? Also if ever you need more sources, I don’t have much but I’d be happy to create a few cult 90s tv series (Buffy, Charmed, etc) or cult horror franchises (Scream, I know what you did last summer, Urban Legends) and send the files to you

I've used the Marvel and DC wiki's (But I've actually gone in and read a few of the comics too) and listed down the characters, plot description, title and themes in a really simple but effective word doc.

I've used the Marvel and DC wiki's (But I've actually gone in and read a few of the comics too) and listed down the characters, plot description, title and themes in a really simple but effective word doc. How can i make and send to admin? (to help) since you don't know much about superheroes (Marvel/DC) You could do what I do, read or briefly go over the comic and jot down the most necessary details into WordPad, Google Docs or some other basic word processor. I'll show you an example of how I do it, that at least for me, makes it pretty easy to enter into the database.
Example: Image Comic's "After the Cape"
After the Cape Description: 'HOW FAR TO FALL' Ethan Falls was once a respected superhero - until his drinking got the better of him. Now he finds he is unable to provide for his young family, and his own sense of failure starts to beckon him towards easy money...and a life of crime! Time Period: Modern Day Location: City? Rating: R Genre: Action, Adventure, Superheroes, Alcholism, Crime Characters - Main - Ethan Falls/Captain Gravity - 40 M Supporting - Ellen Falls - 36 F Steven Shadow/Shadow Stalker - 34 M Minor - Michaels Falls - 12 M Cassidy Falls - 8 F Yip Loch - 50 F Olson Orwell/Cyber Fire - 36 M Paladin - 45 M Lady Machine - 38 F Cameo -
It looks a lot better in WordPad haha. That's how I've been doing it and it's made it pretty easy for me to enter comics/movies/shows into the database. Hope this helps.
