First off, love this game so far and trying to learn as I play.
With films I can see the total cost and how much it makes tickets/dvd.
How can I tell if my TV Show is making me money or costing me money?

How can I tell if my TV Show is making me money or costing me money? I can't tell if it is either. Any clarification would be great since I noticed that whenever I make a show, I don't really notice if it makes any money or not, the show just happens, I spend money on it but don't really notice getting anything back except reviews and a contract for another season.

You play the role of the production company, you get paid when you sell the show to a network. That's it. After that a show isn't making you any money until you sell another season. Just like in real life. Shows you release on your streaming platform only generate money passively by increasing subscribers.

Thanks for the reply!
I was thinking more comparing the cost to write the season which shows under staff plus any rights I bought against the offer the network made. I sometimes forget how much per episode it cost when it comes to deciding which network to choose. Even when choosing to renew if the cost of writing each episode/season is more than the network is willing to pay me then I shouldn't renew.

I don't know if it's intentional but, you could make a monthly profit from television shows if you create a franchise for them. Useful if you want to only focus on TV Shows but the staff payments are too high to sustain your company.
