I added the option to add a description or plot summary to movies (an sources). You won't have to add one, but if you want to do it for that extra bit of immersion, you now can. I'm currently going through the database to add description to all sources. Bit tedious, but I think it will be worth it.

Has the TV side been halted for now while you focus on getting the film alpha out?

Has the TV side been halted for now while you focus on getting the film alpha out? Yes, but don't worry. I know how important this is to you and it's the very first thing I will tackle after Alpha comes out.

In the beginnend, the script creation phase.

Finally added the restrictions for Adaption, Sequel etc. If you choose a source as the basis for your script, some options for script creation are now locked. What's locked depends on what type of script you are making. Adaptions are the most limited type while spin-offs offer you the most freedom. However adaption provide the biggest bonus to viewership, sequels and prequels give you a medium bonus, spin-offs only a smaller bonus. (You can also see the new plot description input field in this screenshot)

One thing though - I don't agree with tone being locked though, as no matter the property, part of the adaptation is the directors approach. We've had plenty of dark versions of fairy tales and classics, like Wuthering Heights! ☺️

I was pondering this question as well and I'm considering adding another option. Something like "Reinterpretation" or "Retelling" that give a little more freedom, so adaptions are only reserved for well... faithful adaptions.

Update: I did this.
Currently fighting the urge to add nationalities for actors to the database, so you can cast Jane Austen adaption with an all-British cast. What do you think?

They cast Little Women with all European/British actresses as American women but yeah I wouldn't mind. Or narrow a role to a few nationalities. Like Black Panther should only be black
